Raw passion

Many people are so excited about raw, they can become a bit evangelical about it! 63% of respondents always recommended raw the others, but accept it's not for every dog and owner.

11% say they are driven potty by people not giving raw a try and do still try to convert people.

19% rarely talk about what they feed, as they know from experience it is as contentious as religion or politics!

Many people have had funny experiences trying

• “ Some people think raw-fed dogs will lust after blood!”

• “ I am nearly always asked at the end of my explanation of what I feed, ‘But then you cook it?’”

• “ I went on a German Shorthaired Pointer walk and when my raw-fed dog pooed, I popped the bag in my jacket, as there were no poo bins. A horrified man saw this, and, towards the end of the walk, he rushed to open a poo bin for me. I told him that the poo didn’t smell. A month later, we met up with him and his dog again and he invited me to squidge his poo bag – he was so proud – he had changed to raw, too!”

Not everyone is such a fan. One person completing our survey left this comment:

“My dog nearly died and I would now never advocate raw feeding and hate it when people try to shove it down your throat. It is not suitable for every dog.”
