Are you proud of your dog’s poo? (part 3)

And some people have had some issues with their vets, who may not be great fans of raw:

5% of those surveyed admitted not telling their vet, because they were so anti-raw

60% however, said that while their vets weren’t fans of raw, they didn’t give them a hard time

16% had vets that either fed raw themselves or recommended it – a promising number

“ Our older dog is 17 with Cushing’s and sometimes this flares up, regardless of diet, medication or anything, but invariably the vet insists it’s because we feed raw!”

“ I’m a veterinary nurse and the vets I know are happy with raw feeding, providing it’s done correctly.”

“ I’ve had the odd comment, but most have been OK. One vet said he would love to feed his dog raw chicken wings, but his wife wouldn’t let him. Another from the practice borrowed my Give Your Dog a Bone book.”

“ My vet has doubts about the benefits other than clean teeth. I think he has seen too many people doing it wrong, who end up with problems.”

“ I’ve worked for veterinarians for 30 years. None of those vets  likedraw; clients that fed raw were considered eccentric and misinformed. As I started to hear more and asked my employers about raw, I was quickly told absolutely not to do it. Now I have retired. I can do what I want. I am thrilled with my dogs’ progress these past
seven months.”
